Tunes & Coffee began in 2016 shortly after we got married. What better way to document your first year of marriage and learn each others repertoire than to record a tune every day and post it for the world to see…..

While we wouldn't recommend this, in hind sight, it turned out to be a great experience. We had lots of fun moments captured, friends and legends featured and hundreds of tunes archived and made available for people to enjoy and learn.

After a year of recording tunes we decided it was time for a break. We used our newly found time off to transcribe most of the tunes we had recorded and publish eight books featuring different styles of tunes. We had the great honor of working with legendary folk musician and historian Vivian Williams as our editor. Her whitty and insightful history of the tunes only added to our enjoyment and appreciation of each tune.
When Covid reared its ugly head. With no where to go and no one to play with we decided to do a weekly hour long “Coffee Hour” for all our fans who were house bound and going crazy. These sessions were a great opportunity to learn new tunes, stay in touch with our friends and fans and keep our sanity. It was also during this period the a new Facebook group called Fiddle Tune Video Library formed with a daily challenge. We both decided to participate and learn some new tunes and brush off some old tunes. After the year was completed Isaac tied for first place with Canadian fiddler Patti Kusturok and Louise placed in the top ten. It was a great experience and another great way to contribute to the archiving and learning of fiddle music.

Now after six years we've had enough of a break that we thought it would be fun to do another year of tunes. With a new baby, a new house and lots of medical drama we thought playing and recording tunes would be a good way to keep up our chops, entertain the baby and provide some daily distraction and enjoyment for our ourselves and our followers.

So follow along with us as we navigate our crazy life with new tunes six days a week and a Sunday Coffee Hour. Be sure and subscribe to our YouTube channel and “like” us on Facebook. We love getting tune requests and hearing your stories on the tunes we record and how you're enjoying them or where you heard them first. We look forward to your comments and maybe meeting you somewhere along our journey.
